Cognition raises over $2B for the next phase of Devin

Cognition announced a round led by Andreessen Horowitz and Accel at a $48B valuation. Its update points to Devin's incident triage, security work, and automations triggered from tools such as GitHub, Slack, and Linear.

For builders: The direction is agents doing work between prompts. Test them on bounded tasks with clear permissions, review gates, and rollback plans; funding is not proof of reliability.

For builders: Treat agent sessions like production credentials. Investigate unexplained usage, review third-party integrations, and contact support to revoke compromised access. The report does not say Claude itself installed the malware.
